Catechist Certification
The Catechist Certification Program offers a basic and advanced adult formation to help catechists attain the knowledge, skills, and abilities for catechetical ministry. The program challenges catechists to grow, theologically, spiritually, and in the foundational skills of a catechist.
The Diocese of El Paso will be hosting the annual Southwest Liturgical Conference. Stay tuned for dates and additional information.
What is a Catechist?
A catechist is a person of faith called to hand on the living tradition and teachings of the Catholic Church. To be faithful to this sacred calling, a catechist studies church doctrine develops appropriate teaching skills and nurtures his or her spiritual life and personal faith formation.
The Office of Safe Environment for the Diocese of El Pas has implemented the Virtus Sexual Misconduct and Safe Environment workshops throughout the different parishes. These workshops are for all volunteers and employees of the diocese and are necessary for compliance with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. Workshop trainings are conducting within the Parish. For information regarding workshop dates for San Antonio de Padua, contact Deacon Sam Bernal or Robert Ortega at 915-598-1457 or the Diocesan Coordinator Diana Bulko at (915) 872-8427 or email at dbulko@elpasodiocese.org
